Q5 : What is a Liner?
Liners are fabric-covered moulding, used inside the outer moulding in a frame design. A liner is not completely finished, so it would not be used as the only moulding for a frame. Liners often are used in place of mats on framed canvas prints or oil paintings.
Liners serve much the same visual purpose as a mat, separating the work from its frame. |
