We use only fine art printers, inks and canvas. Q15 : Which file formats are best for canvas prints? We accept JPG and TIFF and the suitability of the file format really depends on whether you intend to submit your image by email or by mail. As a general rule, JPEG files are best if submitting by email or uploading and TIFF files are best if submitting on CD or DVD. JPEG files are ‘lossy’ meaning that when they compress the data, they throw some of it away. When a JPEG file is uncompressed it does not always duplicate the original data exactly. TIFF files on the other hand are ‘lossless’ meaning they do not throw away data whilst compressing. The result is that TIFF files are much larger than JPEG files but they preserve every pixel that was in the original. Q16 : Do you offer custom framing services? Yes, we offer a comprehensive selection of frames styles at very competitive prices, please visit this page for custom picture framings: http://www.hanaartstudios.com/vancouver_custom_framing.php Q17 : Do you have a gallery or somewhere I can see examples? A bleed is when your image wraps around the sides of the frame. The actual picture follows all the way round. A non bleed is when the edges are left white. Q19 : How long will my Canvas Art Prints last? We use Epson's pigment based Ultra Chrome archival inks to produce our artwork. Epson states that these inks will produce a print that is lightfast for upwards of 75years (please note this applies to prints that are not placed in direct sunlight). Q20 : How is the Canvas print protected? What finishing method do you use? For canvas prints we use BullDog Coating as a protective finish. This is a solvent borne vinyl elastomer clear coat. While the Epson UltraChrome K3™ Inks are already UV resistant inks, the coating has some additional UV buffers as well and when applied to the print, the finish can further protect it from scratching, finger prints, or smudging. Q21 : What is so special about a canvas print? The natural texture, depth and brilliance of a canvas print is wonderful and the print reflects light in different directions as opposed to a regular flat print. Canvas doesn't need to be framed with protective glass so the image can be seen clearly without bothersome glares and finally Canvas prints are tougher and far more durable than paper prints.
